    Mike Clissold Review added: 2018.10.14
Let's start with the positives...the single, Bosch injector i ordered was delivered pretty quickly to Australia and it was comparatively cheap.

That's when it all started to go wrong...
The new part was fitted by my mechanic and from the start it didn't work properly; the car was hunting (revving up and down slightly on idle).
Engine diagnostic tests were run which pointed to the supplied injector running outside of specification.

I reported the fault on email to SDIS as well as diagnostic information passed on by my mechanic.

I was contacted by a 'customer service' person and, as seemed to be the answer for everything: "the injector is brand new and from Germany" (therefore how could anything possibly be wrong with it!). Well, don't Bosch have their diesel injector plants in Turkey and China...?!!

I went back with other supporting information which all pointed to the supplied injector being at fault. This fell on deaf ears.

In a later email the same 'specialist' also suggested it could be my other 5 existing injectors that were at fault (er, no, they all work fine!) since i had a new one fitted!

After some weeks of no responses to my emails and chasing up, he did eventually suggest i send it to him for testing but he would not tell me what that involved, what they are testing against, who would do it, how long it would take, nor what would happen if they found the injector to be at fault.

After more than 8 weeks getting nowhere with SDIS my mechanic took the injector out and had it tested and a blockage was found which he managed to clear with increased pressure on the testing machine.

$1,300 additional spent on diagnostics, trouble shooting, removing and refitting the injector. I wanted to know the process for making a claim for this out of pocket expenses related to the part that was supplied by them. This time, and don't forget they are the retailer for this product, he suggests i speak to Bosch!

I don't know if I was just unlucky, or if this was a second quality, a knock-off or had been sitting around a long time. But it was cheap...(for a reason?).

I found the contact at SDIS quite unprofessional, evasive (wouldn't answer most of the questions I had), slow to respond and unhelpful, especially given my location and not knowing if SDIS would assist with remediation costs (removing, sending for testing in the UK, sending back to Aus and then re-fitting the injector) if it was found to be at fault.

I was also trying to keep my car's down time at a minimum whilst this problem was resolved but was offered no practical suggestions. At no point did the 'specialist' ensure that i had purchased the right part for my car. At no point did the 'specialist' check with his supplier if the diagnostic readings i provided were considered within specification for my car (even though i suggested this was probably an appropriate approach). These sorts of things that may have ruled out some issues early on.

I would certainly not recommend buying an injector from SDIS if you are outside of the UK. I would err on the side of caution buying from them if you are in UK. Given the lack of taking ownership and not providing good customer service, if something goes wrong you're on your own. Some other reviews (now seem to have disappeared) also talked about poor customer service and faulty products (injectors and pumps) so beware.
